Excellent question.   Typically they aren&#039;t seeking to buy an easement for just 7-20 years.  In most cases, they seek to buy a perpetual easement or a 50-year term easement.  In almost all cases, this extends beyond the term of the lease.  The benefit to them is not having to pay the rent and gaining long term control.  They also insert more favorable language into the easement that benefits them.]]></description>
